Collective effort powers Isipatana to crucial victory
A collective bowling effort powered Isipatana to their second outright victory of the season and the first in their group in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘B’ tournament as they beat St. Anthony’s College Wattala by nine wickets at Colts ground on Tuesday.
After extending their first innings lead to 73 runs Isipatana had only St. Anthony’s skipper Chamod Sandeepa resisting against them as none of the other top order batsmen reached double figures.
Sandeepa’s century (120) in adversity only delayed the inevitable.
Chasing a target of 88 runs, Isipatana lost just one wicket, as Ruchith Rodrigo’s unbeaten half century sealed the victory with many overs to spare.
Isipatana thus earned their first tournament points after four outings.
