Isipathana -Wesley clash highlight of this week’s matches
Current President’s Trophy Knockout Champions Isipathana College will lock horns with a resurgent Wesley College, while the defending League Champions St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya prepares for a crunch game against Royal College Colombo, which could prove decisive in the title race. Meanwhile, the clash between S. In Week 7 (July 21–27), the pressure escalates as Royal College face Wesley, and Isipathana meet Trinity, both carrying strong title hopes. Meanwhile, S. Thomas’ College host St. Peter’s College at Mount Lavinia in a must-win for both sides.
The top contenders regroup in Week 8 (July 28–August 3), with Trinity hosting Wesley, while arch-rivals Royal and Thomians meet in the big game at the S. Thomas’ Grounds Mount Lavinia. At the same time, St. Peter’s College welcome Isipathana in another potential title-decider at Bambalapitiya.
The grand finale in Week 9 (August 4–10) features three mouth-watering ties: Wesley vs S. Thomas’, Trinity vs St. Peter’s at Pallekele, and the much-awaited clash between traditional giants Royal and Isipathana.
In the Plate segment, every match counts. Week 6 pits Zahira College against DS Senanayake College, Ananda College against Sri Sumangala, and Kingswood against St. Joseph’s—each aiming to climb the mid-tier ladder.
Week 7 brings DS Senanayake vs Sri Sumangala, Zahira vs St. Joseph’s, and Kingswood vs Ananda in tight battles, followed by Week 8’s key fixtures—St. Joseph’s vs DS Senanayake, Sri Sumangala vs Kingswood, and Ananda vs Zahira.
In Week 9, the focus shifts to DS Senanayake vs Kingswood, St. Joseph’s vs Ananda, and Sri Sumangala vs Zahira, all fighting to finish the season on a high.
In the Bowl segment, the fight is no less intense. Week 6 sees Dharmaraja College take on St. Anthony’s, Science College battle Vidyartha, and Mahanama College face Thurstan.
Week 7 matches include St. Anthony’s vs Vidyartha, Dharmaraja vs Thurstan, and Mahanama vs Science. In Week 8, Thurstan face St. Anthony’s, Vidyartha take on Mahanama, and Science clash with Dharmaraja.
The tournament rounds off in Week 9 with St. Anthony’s vs Mahanama, Thurstan vs Science, and Vidyartha vs Dharmaraja—each team pushing to end on a positive note.
