Every great Isipathana rugby player started somewhere. For some, it was watching the 1st XV from the sidelines and dreaming of one day wearing that green jersey. Now, the youngest members of the Isipathana family have the chance to take their first steps onto the rugby field.
The college is opening rugby training sessions for children in grades 1 to 3, and the ICOIC family could not be more excited about it.
When: Every Saturday, 7.30 am to 9.30 am
Where: College Ground
Starting from: Saturday, 14th February
These weekly sessions are designed to introduce our youngest boys to the sport that has defined Isipathana for over six decades. Beyond learning the basics of rugby, the children will develop physical fitness, mental resilience, teamwork, and discipline. These are the values that have carried every Green Machine squad onto the field, and the earlier our boys are exposed to them, the stronger the next generation will be.
Every child attending training must bring a bottle of drinking water. This is mandatory. Regular attendance is equally important, as consistency is where real development happens. The coaching team encourages all parents to make Saturday morning rugby a part of their child’s weekly routine.

The players who will one day light up Havelock Park, lift knockout trophies, and represent Sri Lanka on the international stage are sitting in our junior classrooms right now. This is where their journey begins.
Parents, bring your boys along. Let them run, play, and fall in love with the game. The pride of Isipathana rugby is waiting for them.
