Isipathana College under 16 Hockey team, captained by Mandiv Santhul Ranasinghe showcased their talents as one of the best teams at the Boys under 16 All Island Hockey tournament but missed a golden opportunity to enter the final of the Cup Championship by losing to St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa in a thrilling semi final on penalty strokes, organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Hockey Association, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, played at Matale recently.

Isipathana College under 16 Hockey team made it to the best four at this tournament after nearly 15 years. These lads from their start of their hockey career was coached by Praveen Chanaka, a famous Hockey player produced by Isipathana College and the coaching stint this year was handed over to Vishwa Udayanga and also appointing Kasun Rajitha to assist him. The Isipathana College under 16 team Hockey team showcased their talents to pay a tribute to their Master Praveen Chanka who guided them to come upto this standard. In thrir league matches played,Beat Janadhipathi Vidyalaya Maharagama on penalty strokes and Vijaya College Matale also on penalty strokes.
