Trinity- Isipathana rugby game on July 26
In the Dialog A Division League Cup segment game played between Trinity College and S. Thomas College which is their annual Canon R.S. de Saram shield game, Trinity College with a good display were able to beat S. Thomas College by 36 points to 19 at Mt. Lavania. And in the Plate segment Sri Sumangala College went down to Ananda College by 17 points to 36 at Rajagiriya. Kingswood College went down to St. Joseph’s College at Bogambara Stadium by 22 points to 33. In the Bowl trophy game St. Anthony’s College beat Dharmaraja College by 36 points to 17 at Nittawela grounds and Vidyartha College went down to Science College by 16 points to 28.
Trinity College who are in good position have a good chance to win the title, their side is well; disciplined and they handle the ball well their next games are against Isipathana College, Wesley College, and St. Peters College all games are in Kandy. The Trinity College vs Isipathana College game should be an interesting one and will be played on July 26th (Saturday) at Pallekele.
Coming Friday 25th Kingswood College will play Ananda College in the Plate segment game at Bogambara Stadium and on the same day Dharmaraja College will play Thurstan College in a bowl segment game at Nittawela grounds. On July 26th Saturday two Kandys schools St. Anthony’s College will clash with Vidyartha College at Nittawela grounds in a Bowl segment game. On July 27 (Sunday) Sri Sumangala College will play D.S. Senanayake College at Pallekele in a Plate segment game.
St. Sylvesters beat Sri Rahula
On Friday St. Sylvester’s College grounded Sri Rahula College at the Bogambara Stadium in a inter school game.. Both schools were evenly balanced and a good game of interesting rugby was on show, and St. Sylvester’s College were able to win by 39 points to nil and at half time led 15-0. It was a good game by the Sylverstrians; the scoring process tells exactly how the game was played. St. Sylvesters College had the edge in the loose while the set pieces were shared. Sri Rahula College back division could not glitter as the opponents were quick to tackle. Sri Rahula College could have scored points had they performed more determinedly.
