Isipathana College delivered a dominant second-half performance to overcome DS Senanayake College, Colombo, winning 33–10 in their Dialog Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament clash at the Royal Sports Complex in Colombo yesterday. The winners led narrowly 14–10 at halftime.
The opening half was tightly contested, with both sides displaying determination and structure. Isipathana managed to take a slim four-point advantage into the break, while DS Senanayake remained competitive with a disciplined effort in both attack and defence.
After the interval, however, Isipathana took full control of the game. Raising their intensity, they dominated possession and created scoring opportunities with consistency. Their forwards provided a strong foundation, enabling the backs to finish clinically and extend the lead.
In total, Isipathana scored five tries, successfully converting four of them. DS Senanayake responded with one converted try and a penalty, but it was not enough to match their opponents’ second-half surge.
