Isipathana Rugby Unveils 2025 Jersey at Sponsor Felicitation Ceremony

The Isipathana College Rugby team marked the beginning of another promising Schools Rugby season with a grand Sponsor Felicitation and Jersey Launch ceremony, held on 24 April 2025 at the Raffles Hotel, Kotte Road, Jubilee Post, Mirihana.

As one of Sri Lanka’s most successful and respected rugby-playing schools, widely known as the “Kings of Rugby,” Isipathana College enters the 2025 Inter-School Rugby season with high expectations and renewed determination. The Green Machine will be led this year by flanker Thrinethra Dodangoda, with Avishka Hiran appointed as Vice Captain.

Isipathana College Rugby boasts a proud and unmatched legacy. The school enjoyed a historic double championship in 2022 and further strengthened its dominance by winning both the Under-18 and Under-19 All-Island Sevens titles in 2023. Over the past six decades, Isipathana has accumulated more than 100 trophies across all age groups, making it the most successful school in Sri Lankan rugby history. The college has also produced over 75 national players who have gone on to represent Sri Lanka with distinction.

The 2025 season is strongly backed by an impressive lineup of sponsors. Sense.lk comes on board as the Gold Sponsor, while KFC, Pearl Beach Restaurant, Ceylon Agro Industries (Prima Group), Appeton, Dialog Axiata, and Fortune Soy join as Co-Sponsors. Additional support is provided by Chance Sports and A Goal, both led by proud Old Isipathanians, further strengthening the bond between past and present members of the Green Machine family.
