Isipathana College under 14 Hockey team wins Gold Star Award for the third consecutive year at the All Island Schools Hockey tourney 2024.
Skipper Naqib Zafarulla showcasing his talent in the field as one of the up and coming Hcckey players scoring 11 goals, the highest number of goals scored by a player at this tournament, helped Isipathana College under 14 Hockey team to pocket the Gold Star Award for the third consecutive year. The tourney was organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Hockey Association, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, played at Matale recently.
Isipathana College, Colombo drawn along with Pathadumbara NS Kandy, Girandurukotte NS, Hindu NS Matale, Kegalu Vidyalya and Kekirawa Central College won 4 out of their 5 matches and the only draw was against Hindu National School, Matale. Skipper Naqib Zafarulla was the architect of the Isipathana College Gold Star Award scoring 11 goals out of the 16 goals scored in their 5 matches. 4 goals against Kekirawa Central College, 4 goals against Kegalle Vidyalaya, 1 against Hindu National School, Matale and 2 against Pathadumbara NS, Kandy.
