The highly anticipated Dialog School Rugby Season will kick off on April 24 with the Knockout Tournament, running until May 18 and featuring 16 competitive teams. Following this, the League Tournament, expanded to include 18 teams, will start on June 2 and conclude in the grand final on August 10, the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association announced yesterday.

Ananda College and Mahanama College have secured promotion to the elite Schools Rugby ‘A’ Division segment for the 2025 season. Their inclusion brings the total number of competing teams in the league to 18, adding new intensity and fresh rivalries to the league tournament.

Defending champions St Peter’s College headline Group ‘A’, joined by DS Senanayake College, Science College, St Anthony’s College, and newly-promoted Ananda College. The group is expected to be very competitive as St Peter’s tries to keep their title against tough opponents and eager new teams.

Group ‘B’ is equally formidable, led by last year’s runners-up Isipathana College. Traditional giants S Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and Kingswood College will clash with Dharmaraja College, Zahira College, and spirited debutants Mahanama College.

Group ‘C’ features a balanced mix of seasoned contenders and emerging talents. Royal College, third-place finishers this year, will face off against Trinity College Kandy, St Joseph’s College Colombo, Vidyartha College Kandy, and Sri Sumangala College Kandy.
