Lone Pathanian Ishan Induwara Punching Above All to Claim All-Island U-19 Boxing Gold

In a display of sheer grit, determination, and true Pathana spirit, Ishan Induwara brought glory to Havelock Town by claiming the Gold Medal in the Under-19 (65–70 kg) category at the All Island Men’s Novices Boxing Tournament held in Kandy recently.

Fighting on the big stage against top contenders across the island, Ishan’s journey to the top step of the podium was nothing short of legendary.

The Championship Campaign

Ishan outmaneuvered and outpunched a series of tough opponents throughout the knockout stages:

• Quarter-Finals: Defeated the boxer from St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy.
• Semi-Finals: Delivered a masterclass performance to overcome Trinity College, Kandy.
• The Grand Final: Clinched victory in a hard-fought, thrilling final against Nalanda College, Colombo.
