Former Isipathanian Nissanka Senadhipathi was unanimously elected President to head the Sri Lanka Amateur Baseball/ Softball Association (SLABSA), while Asanga Senevirathne was elected as the new Executive Vice-President at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday.The AGM of the Sri Lanka Baseball Association was conducted virtually, signifying the first virtual AGM of a Sports Body in Sri Lanka.
Major (Rtd.) Nissanka Senadhipathi, a person who defines courage, discipline and determination, will embark on bringing in a wealth of experience in sports administration and promotion. He was the President of the Basketball Association and took Basketball to new heights, before taking over the reins of SLABSA. During his period, Basketball became one of the top sports in the country and he conducted many tournaments in Sri Lanka with the inclusion of foreign players, who are playing in Major League in Europe and USA.
With his leadership the SLABSA expects to rejuvenate the game to be one of the top sports in the country.
