Shaakib Zumri to leads Isipathana

Shaakib Zumri has been appointed as the captain of the Isipathana College rugby team this year. He is a fourth-year coloursman and began his college rugby career at Under-10. He was the captain of the college Under-18 team last year. Nimantha Sandeepa and Abdul Azeez will be his two deputies.

He also represented the national Under-18 Sevens Rugby team at the Asia Emirates Championship held in Malaysia in 2024. Shaakib is the brother of former Isipathana vice-captain and current Kandy SC and national player Shaahid Zumri.

Isipathana will be coached by veteran Sanath Martis.
